Terms of service

Last updated 9 August 2026

These terms cover your use of makeme.food. By creating an account, posting a request or bidding on one, you agree to them. They describe how the product works today; they are not legal advice.

The service

makeme.food connects customers who share a recipe link with independent local chefs who bid to cook and deliver it. We operate the marketplace, payments and support tooling. We do not cook the food ourselves.

Accounts

You need an account to post requests or place bids. Keep your login details private, give accurate information, and stay responsible for everything that happens on your account. One person, one account.

Posting a request

Requests must include a real recipe link and an address you can receive delivery at. Do not request anything illegal, unsafe or beyond what a home or professional kitchen can reasonably make. You are responsible for telling your chef about allergies and dietary needs in the order notes or chat.

Bids and accepting a chef

A bid is a chef's offer of a price and an ETA. Accepting a bid forms an agreement between you and that chef for that order. Prices and ETAs are set by chefs, and ETAs are estimates rather than guarantees.

Payments

You pay for an order at checkout after accepting a bid. The amount shown at checkout is the amount charged for that order. Chefs are paid for completed orders according to their accepted bid, less any platform fees disclosed to them.

Cancellations and refunds

You can cancel a request before you accept a bid at no cost. After a chef starts cooking, cancellation may not be possible or may be partially refundable, since ingredients and time have already been committed. Support can cancel an order and record a refund receipt against it; refunds appear on your order page with the amount, reference and note.

Chef obligations

Chefs are independent providers, not employees of makeme.food. If you cook on the platform you are responsible for food safety and hygiene, for any licences, permits, insurance and tax obligations that apply where you cook, and for delivering the dish you bid on within a reasonable time of your ETA.

Conduct

No harassment, discrimination, fraud, fake bids or reviews, scraping, or attempts to move transactions off the platform to avoid fees or protections. Order and dispute chat is for the order itself.

Reviews

Ratings and reviews should reflect a real order. We may remove content that is abusive, fake or reveals someone's personal information.

Disputes

If an order goes wrong, report it from the order page. Both sides can add messages and evidence to the dispute thread, and support will review it and decide whether a refund or other resolution applies.

Suspension

We may pause or close an account that breaks these terms, creates safety risks, or racks up unresolved disputes. You can close your account at any time by contacting support.

Service availability

The platform is provided as-is. We work to keep it running but cannot promise uninterrupted availability, that a request will attract bids, or that a chef will be available in your area.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the current version, and continued use after a change means you accept it. Questions go to support@makeme.food.
